Atlantis Verlag, Zurich
Atlantis is an imprint of Orell Füssli Verlag. It publishes picture books, children’s books and books for young adults and has achieved a reputation for the literary and artistic qualities of its list, which ranges from classics to debuts.
 
 
 
Bilgerverlag, Zurich
Bilgerverlag was founded in 2001 by Ricco Bilger and specialises in contemporary Swiss literature. Authors include Katharina Faber, Urs Augstburger, Kaspar Schnetzler, Urs Mannhart, and Christoph Simon. Ricco Bilger opened his Zurich bookshop in 1983, and ten years later, another bookshop in mountain spa town of Leukerbad, where he went on to found the successful Leukerbad Literature Festival. In 2007 Bilger was the driving force behind the formation of SWIPS, the forum for Swiss Independent Publishers.

Diogenes Verlag, Zurich
Diogenes Verlag was founded in Zurich in 1952 by Daniel Keel and Rudolf C. Bettschart. One of the leading international publishing houses, it numbers among its authors Alfred Andersch, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Patricia Highsmith, Donna Leon, Bernhard Schlink and Patrick Süskind. Children’s authors include Tatjana Hauptmann, Ute Krause, Karl Friedrich Waechter and Tomi Ungerer.

Edition Epoca, Zurich
Edition Epoca is a small Swiss publishing house, founded in 1995. It publishes a handful of titles each year, specializing in quality non-fiction and literary fiction by German-language authors and international writers in translation. Its list includes books by Gilbert Adair and Alain Claude Sulzer, as well as a series of new translations of P.G. Wodehouse.

Limmat Verlag
Limmat Verlag published its first book on 19th March 1975 and Schweizerische Arbeiterbewegung (‘The Swiss Workers’ Movement’) is still a standard work today. It pursues historical and political themes in its non-fiction list, with particular emphasis on women’s studies, and has a fiction list of predominantly Swiss contemporary voices. The publisher of critically acclaimed editions of the novels of Swiss crime writer Friedrich Glauser, it also publishes dual-language books which reflect the richness and variety of language of Switzerland’s past and present.

Verlag Nagel & Kimche was founded in 1983 and quickly established itself as one of Switzerland’s leading publishers. Emphasis is placed on the work of contemporary Swiss authors. In 1998 Nagel & Kimche joined the Hanser group of publishers.
